POSITION: Full-Time Coordinator of Workforce and Continuing Education – Lufkin



Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution required.
Master’s Degree preferred.
At least three years experience teaching and/or administering continuing education or workforce education programs required.
Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills required.
Community college experience is preferred, especially in teaching or leading continuing education or workforce education programs.
Experience in curriculum development and evaluation of educational programs preferred.
Experience as a supervisor in an educational setting preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) preferred.
Knowledge of institutional assessment and effectiveness preferred.
Experience with distance education, online education, and concurrent/dual credit programs preferred.
Experience with recruitment and outreach efforts in education preferred.
Experience with use of social media for marketing purposes preferred.
Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
Understand how to work successfully as a team within all levels of the organization and know how to contribute to the mission of the college.

The position will report to the Dean of Community Services for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

Assist with the development of regular or customized noncredit training;
Serve as a liaison to businesses, industries, and secondary schools in the service area of the college;
Represent Community Services at regional college and career events to promote educational programs and services;
Support, supervise, and evaluate assigned instructors of workforce education and personal interest courses;
Serve as a team member in developing curriculum, including syllabi and other course-related documents;
Supervise admissions and registration processes for noncredit programs;
Support, supervise, and evaluate staff who carry out admissions and registration processes;
Coordinate regular communication with third-party payers of student tuition to ensure accuracy of course rosters and billing statements;
Assist in the preparation and distribution of the course schedule for Community Services in fall, spring, and summer;
Assist in marketing and recruitment efforts for noncredit programs;
Assist in the recruitment of instructors for workforce education and personal interest courses;
Participate in unit planning, incorporating compliance with relevant local, regional, and federal regulations to promote continuous improvement;
Assist in the preparation of reports for submission to state and regional agencies;
Serve the institution by serving on campus committees; and
Participate in annual professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in support of position and college mission.


Annual salary of $38,000 – $42,000 in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for successful candidate.
