Visiting Artist Exhibition - Angelina College School of Visual and Performing Arts

Upkeep: New works by Michael Villarreal This Austin area artist will share with us an immersive installation of painting and sculpture, transporting viewers to his childhood home in rural Texas. As references to memory, time, place, and self, Villarreal?s paintings involve mundane imagery such as chopped wood, flaming piles of garbage, and empty beer cans. They capture the processes and outcomes of necessary chores done around his household. The artist will be present for a discussion of his work at the public reception.
