QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year serving in a clerical position.
  • Computer skills necessary, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web browsers.
 
Preferred:
  • Experience with technology for classroom troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace tools like Docs, Sheets, and Drive to create, share, and manage work.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position will report to the Chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
 
  • Serve as point of contact in the VPA office, performing all clerical duties.
  • Serve as support for instructors in VPA.
  • Maintain the VPA classroom-use calendar and communicate all classroom use requests to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist students, visitors, and members of the College community in locating appropriate classrooms and campus areas, including supporting the use of VPA facilities such as the Temple Theater (ACA) and Hudgins Hall Auditorium.
  • Distribute mail as needed.
  • Notify the maintenance department of issues.
  • Receive midterm grades, attendance records, and final grades and maintain files for the AC registrar for all semesters.
  • Receive Assessment data and follow designated protocols for storage of data.
  • Enter the schedules and updates for all VPA disciplines.
  • Receive cross-training in other School of A and E areas (SBS and LAE) as needed.
  • Assist with front desk duties and telephone calls in other areas of the College when needed.
  • Adhere to the institution’s interpretation of FERPA rules for the release of student information to faculty, parents, students, etc.
  • Communicate with students, instructors, and the public professionally, pleasantly, and effectively.
  • Monitor and respond to AC email in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Arrive ahead of class time when needed to get any materials ready before class begins.
  • Assist with notifying classes if there is an instructor absence.
  • Be punctual and dependable.
 
CONTRACT & SALARY:
$13.00 per hour in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
