QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or five years of work experience in a related field from an accredited college or university. 
  • Experience in emergency management or a closely related field.
  • Training or Technical Skills: Office procedures, methods, and equipment including applicable software applications such as Word, Excel and web browsers; English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure pursuant to Executive Order GA 48 by the Governor of the State of Texas dated November 19, 2024.
 
Preferred:
  • Certificates in ICS 100,200, 300, 400 & 700.
  • Experience:
  • Environmental health and safety experience.
  • Experience at an institution of higher education.
  • Previous teaching or training experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans and blueprints.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace tools like Docs, Sheets, and Drive to create, share, and manage work.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position will report to the Senior Director of Physical Plant for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
 
  • Maintain the Environmental Management System including policy revisions, planning, implementation, checking and corrective actions and management review.
  • Develop, implement, promote, evaluate and manage the Emergency Management Program including preparedness, prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery.
  • Develop, revise and maintain policy, procedures, work instructions, plans, annexes and appendices for the emergency management program and the environmental management system.
  • Develop, provide, and coordinate all trainings required for emergency management and environmental topics.
  • Plan, schedule and implement internal audits, emergency drills, tabletops and full-scale exercises.
  • Develop educational, technical and promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and newsletters pertaining to environmental and emergency management.
  • Stay current with all changes in legislation pertaining to environmental and emergency management issues.
  • Provide oversight of electricity, natural gas, sewer and water conservation for the entire campus.
  • Advise the Senior Director on all technical matters concerning environmental and emergency management topics.
  • Assist the Senior Director of the Physical Plant with any assigned special projects.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for the Coordinator of EH&S and Emergency Management.
  • Oversees and finalize timesheet for Coordinator of EH&S and Emergency Management.
  • Responsible for various administrative functions and managing a EH&S budget.
  • Maintain all relevant environmental and emergency management record keeping and tracking.
  • Manage and serve on the AC Incident Command Team and the Environmental Health & Safety Team. Represent AC on Angelina County Local Emergency Management Committee.
  • Complete the following training within 90 days of full-time employment: Internal Auditor Training, EMS Training, DOT Hazardous Materials Training and Biohazardous Waste Training.
 
CONTRACT & SALARY:
$55,000.00 per year in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
