Purpose of Position:
Junior Achievement of Angelina County is seeking a dedicated and organized part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Executive Director. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our office and supporting our mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
 
Title: Administrative Assistant
Scope: Part Time Position, nonexempt (up to 29 hours per week)
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Lufkin (In office)
Salary: $12.00 - $14.00/ per hour
 
Primary Responsibilities:
•Provide administrative support to the staff, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
•Assist with the preparation and distribution of materials for programs and events.
•Maintain and organize office files, both electronic and physical.
•Answer and direct phone calls and emails to appropriate staff members.
•Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
•Help coordinate and support events, including volunteer orientations and fundraising activities.
•Manage office supplies and place orders when necessary.
•Perform data entry and update records in the database.
•Assist with bookkeeping tasks such as processing invoices and expense reports.
•Other administrative duties as assigned.
 
Education/Experience Preferred:
•           High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications as an Administrative Assistant or Secretary are a plus.
•           Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a relevant administrative role.
•           Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic knowledge of office equipment.
•           Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•           Strong organizational and time-management skills.
•           Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•           Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•           A positive attitude and a commitment to the mission of Junior Achievement.
The essential functions of this job may require an individual to frequently sit, walk, and lift approximately 25-50 pounds of weight on occasions.
