Licensing & Permitting Technician

Level I

  • Perform Licensing and Permitting duties as needed such as:
    • Research requirements surrounding titling, registration, and permitting requirements.
    • Work with State Agencies to confirm supporting documents needed and calculation of fees necessary for titles, registrations and various permits.
    • Complete all documentation necessary for submittal of applications and renewals to state agencies. Package and forward to the State for processing.
      • Obtain necessary supporting documents from clients.
      • Ensure copies of applications and documentation are retained.
    • Process all work Orders through Blue Folder while communicating with Accounting.
    • Complete and submit check requests.
    • Monitor the status of work, and follow-up with State Agencies & Clients as necessary to ensure clients receive their registrations and permits prior to expiration.
      • Notify Client Service Team/Supervisor of delays as appropriate.
    • Distribute titles/registrations/permits to clients as required.
    • Process client requests for temporary and specialty permits as needed.
  • Ensure client files and are organized and kept current.
  • Prioritize work to ensure all deadlines are met. Communicating potential issues to Supervisor and/or Client Service Team.
  • Proactively work renewals 90 days prior to expiration.
  • Ensure documentation is imaged and filed timely and correctly.
  • Assist with Special Projects as requested.
  • Maintains a secure environment by ensuring that all Physical Security policies are observed for their workspace.
  • Other duties as required.

Level II

Ability to perform all duties above including;

  • Provide steady feedback to Specialists regarding proactive ways to increase vehicle and company compliance to reduce their risk in the event of an audit.
  • Assist in transitioning new clients.
  • Assist Client Services in completing Compliance Analysis Reports for their clients.
  • A full understanding of License and Permitting systems, processes and Microsoft Office.
  • Communicate with other technicians to ensure all client turnaround times are met and redistribute work accordingly.
  • Process Over-Dimensional permits as needed.

Level III

Ability to perform all duties above including;

  • Process Hazardous Material and Waste Applications as needed.
  • Update and maintain Processing Notes relating to each assigned client.
  • Must be comfortable in having client contact via phone and email.
  • A working knowledge of federal regulations regarding License and Permitting.
  • Assist with training of new technicians on the License and Permitting Systems, internal processes, and federal regulations.
 

 

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate
  • 1+ year of general office experience
  • Strong 10-key and typing skills (65wpm)
  • Proficient in MS Office Products, Internet Applications and Search Engines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound analytical, and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of initiative with the ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and to multi-task
  • Exceptional time management with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Willingness to accept additional responsibilities
