The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing Nexio’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency to support Nexio’s mission of innovation in clean-energy and advanced manufacturing. The Controller provides strategic financial leadership while also managing day to-day accounting functions. 

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports to guide executive decision-making and ensure business-plan achievement.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes to support business growth and investment strategies.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and compliance activities with external auditors and regulatory bodies. • Implement and optimize financial systems, policies, and procedures in alignment with Nexio’s HRIS and ERP systems.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and Supply Chain to support cost management and efficiency initiatives.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of accounting and finance team members.
• Cross-functional leadership with HR and Operations teams to ensure financial data alignment across systems.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP and HRIS systems integration.
• Experience with QuickBooks 

Work Environment

• Based in Lufkin, Texas headquarters with initial reporting location to be in Nacogdoches, T
• Primarily onsite with limited hybrid flexibility based on business needs.
• Some travel may be required for audits, site visits, and vendor meetings.
