Job Title:        Account Executive/Outside Sales

Reports to:    Advertising Director

Position Description:  A full-time retail sales position requiring employee to work outside of office a minimum of six hours per day. Provide advertising and marketing services to existing advertising clients. Prospect for and develop new advertising clients within the assigned territory. Assist clients with ad design for both digital and print advertising. Act as liaison between client and advertising layout artists to provide appropriate content for ads. Increasing active accounts as well as reducing account churn are critical key performance indicators.

Responsibilities: 

  • Achieving assigned monthly sales goals in print, event sponsorships and digital products

  • Identifying and calling on inactive advertisers within assigned territory

  • Grow active account base and increase revenue

  • Schedule client ads and provide content for ad design

  • Conduct needs assessments through face-to-face meetings with clients; recommend customer-centric solutions and make a minimum of 10 outside sales calls daily.

  • Generate and follow-up on sales leads; identify key decision makers

  • Produce customer proposals and presentations using in-house experts for assistance

  • Communicate effectively with clients, sales team, and company employees

  • Enter all ads in the company’s system

  • Log all sales activities 

  • Attend all relevant meetings and work-related events as assigned

  • Monitor client credit information and assist with collections as needed

  • Assumes other duties as assigned by Management

 

Requirements, minimum education level, and experience: 

  • College degree or professional or administrative training to equal four years of college

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Suite

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and proof of appropriate insurance

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in basic office software: Google, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Ability to think logically and creatively and to analyze information.

  • Must be able to communicate persuasively both written and orally.

  • Demonstrate good time management skills and able to handle details.

  • Ability to multi-task to complete multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong presentation skills and/or previous experience in media sales.

 

Physical Requirement:

  • Must be able to drive, work outside, walk, carry computer and sales materials on multiple sales calls daily

  • Must be able to bend and stoop, and pick up and carry up to 20 pounds
