QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Required:
  • High School Diploma.
  • One year of experience serving in a clerical or customer-service position.
  • Experience with office equipment & Microsoft Office products such as Word & Excel; customer service skills; experience searching the Internet or databases.
 
Preferred:
  • Associate’s Degree in a business or Office Administration field from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of basic clerical duties and responsibilities.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace tools (ex. Docs, Sheets, and Drive to create, share, and manage work).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position will report to the Senior Director of Financial Aid & Admissions for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
 
Reception of Visitors and Callers:
  • Receive visitors and telephone calls, answer specific as well as routine questions and refer others to appropriate person or department.
  • Provide students with documents needed to complete their financial aid record.
  • Receive documents from students and make a copy of submitted documents for the student.
  • Assist with the registration process, and help students complete the FAFSA. 
 
Secretarial duties:
  • Prepare correspondence and memoranda using Microsoft Word, Outlook and campus database software.
  • Assemble highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming faxes and mail.
  • Prepare letters for mailing to financial aid applicants and recipients.
  • Schedule appointments as directed.
 
Maintenance of Files and Records:
  • Collect documents and data for financial aid applicants; reviews documents to assure all data required of the student is included or attached. Records receipt of documents in database.
  • Receive Financial Aid appeals packets, review for completeness, log receipt and decisions in databases, forward complete appeals to committee for review, and send letters to students regarding the outcome of their appeal.
  • Assist in the maintenance of student records as required by College, state and federal regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance of records for aid applicants in the DocuBase, Jenzabar, and Powerfaids systems.
  • Utilize and update calendar for appointments, schedules and meetings for Financial Aid Office.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning by completing all required training, compliance courses, and professional development activities promptly and within established deadlines.
 
CONTRACT & SALARY:
$14.00 per hour in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
